How it Started

This project began years ago after asking myself a simple question, how is soap made?

With a background in field botany and environmental science, I love learning more about plants and the ways in which we use them. So I investigated the science behind it all.

After researching the traditional soapmaking methods, I realized the process is surprisingly simple. But when you walk down the soap aisle you'll find that many of them are made with synthetic fragrances, artificial colors and synthetic surfactants. These things aren’t inherently bad, but if there is a natural alternative, why overcomplicate things?

Making it all more simple by using natural oils, clays, botanicals and essential oils to create our bars is a very satisfying creative process and leaves a beautiful and great-smelling product.

Keeping things interesting and fresh is essential for creativity, so we craft a new bar every month in a limited release, while maintaining a rotating stock of standard bars as well.

This is a passion project, so there will be more diverse products and ideas to come in the future!
